LOCATION: Ghana, West Africa
ART: Adinkra Stamping, Weaving, Screen Printing
INSPIRATION: I am Boamah David. I started making adinkra when I was 11 years old. I also weave at the same time and
do screen printing as well.
As adinkra is the main occupation in my village, I never went to learn it from a special person. As I was young, after
school then I sometimes go to my cousins who does it and study them doing it. Sometimes, I help them in picking stamps for
them and the folding of cloth after it has been stamped.
It is by this means I learn to adinkra work and now I have the opportunity to weave and stamp my own cloth, offer them
for sale and teach people about adinkra, too.
My doors are open for anyone either institution, colleges, or individuals who are willing to study adinkra. I am ready
to teach everywhere. I love you all.
